Solid Ground
Finding your footing when everything is shifting
Hello friends,
How do you keep yourself grounded these days? How do you reclaim your time, attention and mental energy? Somedays, I really can’t handle the world events and I spiral down to a dark place. That’s a normal reaction with all the horrors being revealed.
Other days, it just makes me want to fight harder for what I believe in. I still think there are a lot more of us and that we will prevail. We will defeat the monsters. But we need to pace ourselves and protect our sanity. We need to find our anchor, our calm center in the middle of the storm.
To me, making art is very grounding. I try to do something everyday even if it’s just a few doodles in my sketchbook. Making something with your hands can help regulate your nervous system. It can be art, baking, knitting, stitching, whatever works for you.
My latest class on skillshare, Collage and Stamp, is all about using recycled papers to create a background using the mastersheet technique and creating our own foam stamps. You’ll end up with four postcards, ready to send out and make somebody else happy. It’s a win-win! If you are not on Skillshare, you can get one month free with this link to access my 18 classes on the platform.
It’s time to replace passive consumption with active creation. Reduce the time you spend on social media and reclaim your mental energy.
Stay grounded!
With love,
Lucie xo

I feel the same, it is very hard to stay positiv right now! For me, art is a safe place, too. I try to gather all the joyful moments and place them in a visual journal or play with collage papers to calm my mind. I am grateful for every moment I am able to sit down in my studio!
Hello
The link you share for a month free skillshare is not working. When you get directed to skillshare it says only 7 days free!
