Hello friends,
Last week, I met with my friend and fabulous teaching artist, Jane Davies, for an art making session on zoom. We played with paint, collage papers and Caran d’Ache neocolor crayons. It was a grey and stormy day outside, but in our studios, we were splashing bright complementary colours together and it really lifted my spirits. Later, on my daily walk, the sun came out and surprised me with a double rainbow! There is still so much beauty in the world even when things feel pretty dark around us.
Now, more than ever, is the time to find your allies, connect with people who share your values, spread love and generosity, and build communities! There will be a lot of ups and downs but we have the power to lift each other up.
I want to share a PDF of the Blocks and Arches collage project from my Collage du Jour book to help you build your own shining city on a hill! Anybody can do it, you just stack up rectangles as building blocks. Create your own world and rest there for a while to gather your strength. You can share with me if you want, tell me about your little city, about the people who live there, about your favourite café, bistro or bakery. You can respond in the comments or you can tag me on instagram or facebook.
I post pictures of flowers from my daily walks almost every Friday for #flowerfriday on instagram. I am amazed at how many flowers are still blooming in November in Victoria. I hope you can find some botanical inspiration for your next art project.
And finally, for the fans of Wiley LeChat, my art director, here’s some pictures of him saying hello and sending cuddles to all of you!
Take good care,
With love,
Lucie xo
